Experience the World with the #VRLab

Welcome to the Future

Back in February we made a small announcement that we were adopting 360° video production. Now we would like to introduce you to the VR Lab, a space open to students and professionals for collaboration and experiments. It will also give organizations and individuals who would like their story told more value and exposure across many different platforms.

Have you ever stared into the eyes of a Maasai or explored the Peruvian mountain? How much of the world have you experienced? Now, we can bring you new locations and experiences from Berlin and abroad in 4K on Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and even the Microsoft Hololens. Check out our video with a quick preview:

And just a disclaimer, the eyes of a Maasai can be seen in Nomads by Felix & Paul. And the Peruvian mountains can be experienced on the Hololens with the Holotour.

We recently had a discussion with Virtual Reality e.V. Berlin-Brandenburg where we discussed the future of the Berlin VR community. The Berlin startup scene is growing into one of the biggest in the world and may be the biggest in Europe.

VRBB is working to bring the Berlin VR community together with the belief that we can reach the levels of Silicon Valley and Beijing in the global VR terrain. VRBB, like us, believes that Berlin will be the headquarters of VR/AR in Europe in the next 5 years. According to Sandro Stark, strategist at Microsoft, sometime this year Berlin might get a big investment from Microsoft in the form a volumetric studio – a 3D recording studio green room with over 100 cameras – if Berlin wins out over competing cities that is.

We see ourselves playing an active role in building the VR community here in Berlin and competing with Chinese and Americans markets. We just have to work together. We’re very excited to be a new member of the Berlin VR community and we welcome new ideas for collaboration and new requests immersive stories.
